How to choose the right screen size
Four things decide the size. The calculator below applies all of them.
Start from the farthest viewer
Screen height should be about one sixth of the distance to the back row for slides and text. Use one quarter for detailed data, one eighth for video only.
Keep the shape 16:9
Presentations, video and camera feeds are all 16:9. A screen of any other shape either letterboxes the content or crops it.
Build in whole cabinets
An LED wall is assembled from 500 x 500 mm cabinets, so real sizes step in half metres. 5.5 x 3 m is buildable; 5.3 x 2.8 m is not.
Lift the bottom edge
Set the bottom of the image 1.0-1.2 m above the floor, on a riser or ground support. Flat on the floor, everyone past the third row loses the lower third of the screen.
